Sleepwell Foundation organized a special outing for 35 students from Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya, Noida for an exclusive screening of the film "The Vaccine War" at PVR Logix City Center Mall, Noida on the 26th of October, 2023. The special screening was arranged for 11th and 12th standard students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
"The Vaccine War" is a compelling 2023 Indian Hindi-language medical docudrama directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Pallavi Joshi. The film delves into the development of Covaxin during the COVID-19 pandemic in India, highlighting the dedicated efforts of the scientists behind its creation. The storyline is based on the book "Going Viral" by Prof Balram Bhargava of the Indian Council of Medical Research.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the cinematic experience, being chauffeured from their school to the venue and back in a specially arranged bus. During the screening, they were treated to a delightful assortment of snacks, including vegetable sandwiches, popcorn, pizza, Pepsi, and chocolate ice cream.
Film brings together images, story, metaphor and music – all of which are shown to have therapeutic benefits. Watching films reduces stress and can make us feel happy. Recognizing the positive impact of film on emotional well-being, at SWF, we strive to offer such experiences to the underprivileged students, for whom watching movies is a luxury and a happening event.
