Dealing effectively with emotions is the key to Emotional Wellness. And naming our emotions — what psychologists call labelling — is an important first step in dealing with them effectively. But many of us struggle to identify what exactly we are feeling, and often times the most obvious label isn’t actually the most accurate.

There are a variety of reasons why this is so difficult: We’ve been trained to believe that strong emotions should be suppressed. We have certain (sometimes unspoken) societal and organizational rules against expressing them. Or we’ve never learned a language to accurately describe our emotions.

WE BELIEVE that by knowing our emotions we can master them; we can effectively achieve emotional balance, and also use this energy to realize our true potential.

Compassion

When we can experience another person’s sadness, we experience compassion. It is the bridge between us and others. When we express genuine concern for others’ well-being — our own emotional well-being is enhanced

Anger

When angry, we go into the fire. At such time, we should not take any action and let it move through us rather than it getting stuck. Anger can lead to positive change if we express it in a useful and constructive way

Horror

When we live our lives in fear, we shut down completely. We must overcome Bhaya with inner strength, love and truth. As humans, we seek emotional nourishment as much as food and water

Disgust

Self-pity, loathing, self-hatred. Only by cultivating loving-kindness, can we heal and control Vibhatsa. When we feel disgusted, we need to find the source of our discomfort. Only then, we'll get to know ourselves better and be able to manage our emotions well
