Teaching is a challenging profession. It stretches the teachers – physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. Teaching can test professional ability at times and sometimes even test the very strength of their hearts and minds. In short, teaching requires much more than many other jobs. But focusing on wellbeing gives teachers the strength and optimism to challenge and change the way they work without burning out or giving up.
The impact of valuing wellbeing in educational institutions is well evidenced. A workplace that supports the holistic wellbeing of its employees has higher retention, increased loyalty, increased conscientiousness and less sickness.
WE BELIEVE Teachers' wellbeing is both an individual and a collective responsibility. It is holistic – and focuses on the spiritual, physical, mental and social wellness of teachers as professionals and as individuals.
Sleepwell Foundation conducts workshop to give the educators the chance to learn about relevant skills they need to open a pathway for integrating wellbeing into their professional life.
These workshops done in partnership with associates like Children First, Sanjivini, etc., with years of experience in working with teachers, help the teachers to identify and rectify the gap between teachers and students to make teaching and learning a great experience.
