Employers across the board agree that the future workforce needs a basic set of professional skills and attitudes for long-term career success. In the eyes of employers, soft skills are not an added benefit, but rather requisite to future workplace success.
Learning soft skills is a process. Soft skills are necessary for youth to succeed in education, job training, independent living, community participation, and, ultimately, in the workplace. However, because educators and others have assumed that youth learn soft skills at home, or through observing others, youth are seldom taught such skills in educational institutions. Unfortunately, due to a lack of these skills many youth experience difficulties as they transition from the classroom to the workplace.
WE BELIEVE youth who have these skills are more likely to be hired and less likely to be fired, giving them an important advantage in today’s job market.
Sleepwell Foundation in association with MacLead conducts workshops for Graduate & Post Graduate Students, training them on enhancing their professional skills and attitude for career success.
The objective of the workshop is to make the participants equipped with professionalism, which includes work ethic, effective communications, teamwork & collaboration, capacity for critical thinking and problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, that the employers seek in new recruits to move ahead in their career.
