17 Fashion Designers Walk out in Style

A Fashion Show at SDC Khurja was organised to celebrate the 1st Passing out Ceremony of the Graduates of MasterG Fashion Designing Course.

17 trainees walked down the ramp in their own creation, showcasing their talent in front of Ms. Gayatri Jolly, the internationally renowned fashion designer and Founder of the MasterG programme, and other invited guests and students of the Centre.

Symbolically, the ramp represents everything to a fashion designer—fame, money, glitz, glamour, glory. These graduates get a first hand experience of the ramp at Sleepwell Foundation Skill Development Centre, Khurja.

Creativity, passion, knowledge and research—are key ingredients of a good design. Combine this with perseverance, and it would mould a novice into a professional.

By walking the ramp, our graduates are ready to face the world. The 1-year course gave wings to their imagination.

Fashion designing is going to be an opportunistic field in 2020 as more than 300 international fashion brands are expected to open stores in India in the next two years. We are preparing our trainees for this, as well.

Encouraging female participation from rural background in the fashion world, MasterG Fashion Designing Course, apart from creating job opportunities, addresses gender based income generation issues, more predominant in rural societies.

Our trainees are stepping into the real world with a fresh perspective and with a positive mindset. A mindset that is set free with the learnings from the Centre. They are ready to add elements of their own personality to their designs.

People love to wear clothes that are both artistically creative and well-fitting. Our graduates are equipped as to meet this demand, locally.

Empowerment is our belief, our aspiration, our imagination and our ethos.

On a firm footing, our graduates are entering the real world, thanks to the skills acquired from MasterG Fashion Designing Course. We wish them the best!

When we talk fashion we talk creativity. Think of the immense creative legacy that is being built through the illustrious minds of creative directors around the country. Manish Malhotra, Anita Dongre, Neeta Lulla, Ritu Kumar, Anju Modi, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, TarunTahiliani, Archana Rao to name a few, are all genius designers who changed the rules of the game and have contributed to the fashion legacy.

Fashion Matters. To the economy, to the society, and to each of us personally. Faster than anything else, what we wear tells who we are or who we want to be.

Today, the fashion industry is valued at $3 trillion, globally. It is the second largest worldwide economic activity for intensity of trade, employing over 57 million workers in developing countries, 80 percent of whom are women.

Contemporary Indian consumers are seeking distinct fashion for distinct occasions. Our graduates are equipped to take on the challenges of the real world.

After the completion of the course, trainees will be able to get jobs as pattern makers, sample makers, trainers, quality checkers, designers, or merchandisers in the garment industry or they can start their own business/boutique.

The rural population is transitioning up in income levels. Urban lifestyles and services are increasingly being adopted in rural areas.

MasterG Fashion Designing Course at SDC Khurja has brought around, of other things, a mindset change in these youngsters. They now know what constitutes fashion, something very different from tailoring, a perception they more likely had a year ago when they joined the Centre.

Armed with their newly acquired skills, confidence and grooming, their Emotional wellness has enhanced too.

Sleepwell Foundation Skill Development Centre is transforming Khurja in more ways than one, with far-reaching consequences for the better.

The trainees, alias models, all looked ravishing and glamourous— but above all, it was about their confidence.

Beyond Thank You. A graduate expresses gratitude to Ms. Gayatri Jolly. Empowered with MasterG Fashion Designing Course, the world opens up for her, here.

The next line. Inspired. The future MasterGs look with anticipation.
