Rozgar Mela at SDC Khurja, the first of this kind at Khurja, was to provide job opportunities to unemployed educated rural youth.

More than 1,700 aspirants, mostly graduates, ITIs & Diploma holders, and 10th & 12th pass registered through an online portal created for this purpose.

Renowned companies like Bajaj Capital Ltd., Mega Mind Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Muthoot Microfin Ltd., ICCS Ltd., JNS Instrument Ltd., Eureka Forbes, Relaxo Footwears, Navbharth Fertilizers Ltd., Prerna Group, Quess Corp Ltd, Adhaan Solutions Pvt. Ltd., B4S Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Ecom Express Pvt. Ltd., Future Care Guide Pvt. Ltd. and Reliable First participated in the job fair.

While companies in metros visit educational institutions for campus placements there was no such initiative in rural areas. This job fair was a welcome change.

Appropriate and adequate arrangements were made to organize the event.

Several Registration counters were set up for hassle free processes.

Help Desks were set to assist the candidates.

Facilities like photocopy, drinking water, food courts, parking space etc. were also provided in the venue.

A large number of women turned out at the event.

The participation of educated, capable women in the workforce makes for a strong economic argument. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) finds that India’s GDP will increase by as much as 27 percent if women participated in the economy at the same rate as men.

Safety measures and Covid protocols were strictly followed and all the participants exhibited discipline and restraint throughout.

Volunteers were deployed in large number to instruct and give directions to the candidates.

The lesser the confusion, the lesser stress. Through repeated announcements, the organizers helping to createrelaxing environment for the nervous candidates.

A huge turnout of potential job seekerswere witnessed.

For the employers, too, the fair was a useful platform to get the right candidates.

The employers got the opportunity to meet multiple candidates in one place and had the convenience of hiring multiple candidates from the large crowd as well.

Interviews were held for various posts like Technicians, Customer Relationship Officers, Sales Executives, Delivery Executives & Front Office Assistant.

This was also an opportunity to encourage women participation in the work force.

With multiple job openings, job seeker missing out in one interview hadmany options on the floor.

Research has shown that when women have access to more work opportunities, they gladly take them. This Job Fair provided the link between work opportunities and women job seekers.

450 Candidates get on-the-spot jobs. Several others shortlisted.

To take their rightful place within Indian workforce and society at large, our women need lot more formal sector employment opportunities with better wages. Rozgar Mela provided that opportunity.

To consolidate on the efforts of educating and training the rural youth, Sleepwell Foundation is committed to provide opportunities for a secure and stable employment to them so that they generate significant growth and contribute to rural economy.
