Session - Bullying Awareness Workshop
Trainer - Ms. Parveen Gautam & Ms. Aastha Kamra
Students - 161

Sleepwell Foundation conducted a Bullying Awareness Workshop at Maharana Pratap Institute of Education on 12th September 2024, engaging 161 students from Class 6th – 11th across two batches. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about bullying, its impact, and preventive strategies.

The session began with an ice-breaking activity where students shared one positive and one negative personality trait about the friend sitting next to them. This activity sparked meaningful conversations and set the stage for deeper engagement. The trainers shared personal stories about bullying, prompting students to open up about their own experiences. Through open dialogue, students identified various forms of bullying, such as verbal, physical, social, and cyber, and discussed their root causes.

The students learned about the potential reasons someone may turn into a bully and the long-term effects bullying can have on both the victim and the bully. Strategies for preventing bullying and safeguarding oneself were also shared.

In an interactive segment, the students presented impromptu skits (boys and girls performed separately), which were both humorous and insightful. Although students from the 6th grade did not participate in the skits, they engaged with a video that showed how bullying occurs in schools, including the behavior of both the bully and the victim.

The session also featured the video "Aaj Se Bully Band", which helped students understand the emotional toll of bullying and its lasting impact on victims. The video resonated deeply with the students, fostering empathy and reflection.

The workshop was considered highly successful, with students leaving with a better understanding of bullying and its prevention. It concluded on a positive note, with valuable feedback from students, teachers, and the principal, all expressing appreciation for the interactive and insightful sessions.
