Session - Good Touch, Bad Touch Workshop

A workshop on Good Touch and Bad Touch was conducted by Sleepwell Foundation at Seth Vidyalaya, Madanpur Khadar, Delhi, on 4th April for 138 students of Classes 4th and 5th. The session aimed to educate children about personal safety, body boundaries, and the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touch. It began with an engaging “Simon Says” activity led by the trainer to build rapport and comfort among students. Concepts of good and bad touch were explained in simple, age-appropriate language, with the help of demonstrations using a doll. An educational video introduced the Child Helpline number 1098, while discussions highlighted the importance of avoiding strangers and communicating openly with trusted adults. Interactive questioning and visual aids helped assess understanding, and the session concluded with a fun dance activity. Overall, the workshop was highly engaging and effective, promoting awareness, confidence, and essential safety skills among students.

Session - Gender Sensitization Workshop

Sleepwell Foundation conducted a workshop on Gender Sensitization on September 3, 2024, for 92 students of Classes 4 and 5 at Seth Vidyalaya, Madanpur Khadar, Delhi. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about gender roles and promote equality.

The session began with the song “Ladkiya Ladko Jaisi Nahi Hoti,” followed by a discussion on gender stereotypes, such as boys not being allowed to cry or girls being discouraged from certain sports. The students engaged in a lively discussion, with some acknowledging gender equality in sports, while others shared personal experiences of societal pressure.

The trainer clarified the difference between sex and gender, and the trainers discussed traditional gender roles using images of various professions. The students also learned about color preferences and the importance of accepting emotions, regardless of gender. The concept of the third gender was explained, highlighting the importance of transgender inclusivity in society.

The workshop concluded with positive feedback from both students and school authorities, making it a successful and impactful session on gender equality.
