Date - 20 June 2025

Session - Domestic Violence Workshop
Trainer - Ms. Arvinder J. Singh
Members - 22

Sleepwell Foundation conducted an impactful online workshop titled "From Awareness to Action: Recognizing Violence Against Women and Building Coping Capacities" for ICA-AP members from India, Malaysia, Japan, Jordan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka, on 20th June 2025. The session saw participation from 25 members and began with an address by Ms. Arai, Chairperson, ICA-AP Global, who thanked the Foundation for spotlighting such a critical issue.

The trainer fostered a safe, anonymous space through ice-breaking activities, encouraging participants to share personal or observed experiences of violence. A moving narrative on generational trauma, the “monster/star” concept, and real-life workplace examples highlighted systemic violence and coping strategies. Emphasis was placed on setting personal boundaries, speaking up, and using storytelling as a healing tool.

The session concluded with the inspiring “Starfish” story, reinforcing the power of individual action. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. One participant shared, “Encouraging someone who feels hopeless is about presence, not fixing them. Just being heard helps.”

With warm messages from Ms. Arai and Ms. Simren, the workshop ended on a note of empathy, reflection, and hope — leaving a lasting impact on all involved.

Session - Stress & Anger Management Workshop
Trainer - Neelam Agarwal & Ms. Parul Khanna Parashar
Members - 28

The Sleepwell Foundation conducted an online workshop on Stress & Anger Management for ICA-AP Global committee members on September 6, 2024, with 28 participants.

The session began with a discussion on daily stress and anger, followed by an explanation of the "Dodson Law of Performance," which suggests a small amount of stress (eustress) enhances performance. Trainers also addressed unhealthy stress-coping mechanisms and explored the "Anger Iceberg," showing that 98% of stress and anger triggers are hidden.

Through role plays, participants learned about aggressive, passive, and assertive anger responses. Trainers shared stress and anger management strategies like meditation, exercise, time management, and setting boundaries.

The session ended with a Q&A, where participants openly discussed personal issues. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from Ms. Chitosa Arai, the committee chairperson, who expressed interest in future sessions.

The workshop was highly successful, as reflected in the positive feedback from participants, who found it relevant and very useful.
