Good Touch & Bad Touch Workshop
Trainer - Ms. Aastha Kamra & Ms. Neha Gupta
Students - 125

Sleepwell Foundation conducted an insightful and engaging workshop on ‘Good Touch, Bad Touch’ on 9th December 2024 at Govt. Primary School Bahlolpur, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. A total of 125 students from classes 4th and 5th participated in the session, which was conducted in two batches.

The workshop began with an ice-breaking activity, “Simon Says,” to engage the students and capture their attention before addressing the sensitive topic. The trainers then initiated a conversation with the students about how it feels when they touch different parts of their own bodies, contrasting it with how they would feel if a stranger touched them. This led to a discussion on the importance of recognizing "bad touch" and protecting certain body parts.

Using dolls and visual aids, the trainers demonstrated the areas of the body that should not be touched by anyone except trusted individuals like parents. The session included a viewing of the educational video Komal by CHILDLINE India, which further reinforced the concept of good and bad touch. Following the video, the trainers facilitated a thoughtful discussion with questions that encouraged the students to reflect on the content and express their understanding.

To conclude the workshop, the trainers recited the helpline number “1098” through a fun counting activity and concluded with a lively “Boogie Woogie” dance session. The workshop proved to be highly successful, with the students actively participating and showing a strong willingness to learn. The session empowered the children with knowledge about body safety and self-protection, both from strangers and trusted individuals.

Overall, the workshop was a great success, leaving the students more informed and confident in recognizing and addressing inappropriate behaviour.
