Sleepwell Foundation conducted a two-day Emotional Wellness Workshop for the girls of Balika Sudhar Griha, Noida, on 30 and 31 October, with 130 participants. The workshop was specially designed to help girls from diverse backgrounds understand their emotions, build inner strength, and learn simple techniques to care for their mental and emotional well-being. The sessions opened with a gentle icebreaker where participants shared personal stories, helping them feel comfortable and realise that everyone experiences emotions differently. A short film, #ReadTheSigns, encouraged them to recognise emotional pain in themselves and others, prompting honest conversations about loneliness, anger, and the desire to be understood. Discussions and a presentation on “Emotional Wellness” emphasized the importance of acknowledging feelings, practising self-kindness, letting go of resentment, and cultivating positivity.

The workshop concluded with a calming box-breathing exercise, leaving many girls feeling lighter and peaceful. Throughout the sessions, the girls showed curiosity, courage, and growing confidence in expressing their emotions.

The workshops were successful in instilling emotional awareness, confidence, and a renewed sense of hope among the participants.
